BALTIMORE, MD, August 24, 2017 - Parchman, Vaughan, & Company, L.L.C., a leading middle market investment banking boutique focused on the education and training industries, announced today that Rajat (RJ) Parashar has joined the firm as an Associate. Mr. Parashar joins Parchman Vaughan with over six years of M&A and strategic planning experience.   

Prior to joining Parchman Vaughan, Mr. Parashar served as a Consultant with Ernst & Young in Gurgaon, India.  He also spent a year as a Senior Associate with Allure Pvt. Ltd., a boutique investment firm.  Mr. Parashar holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, where he was on the Dean's List as well as President of the Investment Banking Association.  Mr. Parashar graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Gurgaon Institute of Technology in India.

Parchman Vaughan Welcomes Morehead-Cain Scholar Summer Analyst

BALTIMORE, MD, June 30, 2017 - Parchman, Vaughan, & Company, LLC, a leading middle market investment bank focused on the education and training industries, continues its long-standing partnership with the Morehead-Cain Foundation by welcoming Morehead-Cain scholar Jacob Schmidt as a summer analyst. Schmidt is a rising junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, pursuing a Business Administration degree from the prestigious UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. He is a member of the varsity football team at North Carolina, and also commits time to the school’s Athletes in Action organization. Schmidt spent last summer in Cape Town, South Africa as a mentor and coach at the Ubuntu Football Academy, a non-profit organization focused on empowering young boys through sports and developing the next generation of African leaders.

Parchman Vaughan Adds Veteran Banker

Baltimore, MD, April 3rd, 2017 -- Parchman, Vaughan & Company, L.L.C., education sector investment banker, is pleased to announce that James A. Rowan is joining the firm as a Partner. 

Mr. Rowan recently served as the Managing Director, Senior Advisor, and Education Group Head of Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Inc. In 1993, Mr. Rowan joined Legg Mason Capital Markets, which was subsequently acquired by Stifel Nicolaus, and played an integral part in developing the firm's significant investment banking role in the proprietary education and training industries. Mr. Rowan has completed financings with a transactional value of over $5 billion and M&A transactions totaling over $1 billion. 

He was a venture capitalist for six years and prior to that was a Senior Financial Executive at ITT Corporation and City Investing Company, based in New York and London. Mr. Rowan has been an Independent Director of National American University Holdings, Inc., since November 2014. He is a Trustee of Waynesburg University (Pennsylvania), and is on the Financial Advisory Council of CECU (Career Education Colleges and Universities).

Mr. Rowan remains active in alumni affairs at The Lawrenceville School (N.J.) and Cornell University, where he is on the Dean's Leadership Committee for the Johnson Graduate School of Management. A graduate of Lawrenceville, he received a Bachelor's degree in Economics and an MBA in Finance from Cornell University.

Brent has just finished his second year as a Morehead-Cain Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he is pursuing a double-major in History and Global Studies with a minor in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. During the summer of 2013, Brent worked in Nicaragua for Bless Back Worldwide and Los Rayos de Esperanza, where he led a project focusing on the implementation and monitoring of aquaponics systems. After working in Nicaragua, Brent spent a semester studying in London, UK, where he also held an internship with law firm Philcox Gray.
